Fluffy Junior in the snow - poor thing was visibly shivering, but was brave and ate lots.

This darling crane wanted to come and have some food too. However when he came up to me, a respectful distance away from the others, Papa crane took offense, and I found myself in between a very angry Papa, and this interloper, with nowhere to go to get out of the way. It was the only time I have ever been nervous around these birds, but luckily I was not the one in trouble.

When I say lucky, this is what I mean. There were 8 "foreign" cranes who wanted to come and have some attention too, but Papa got pissed off and decided to chase the whole flock of them across the frozen pond. He left Mama and Junior with me while he defended his honor.

Yet another crane came flying in to join the flock, as Papa continued his herding.
