The only Island where is now some few storks is Lesbos (Mitilini) - is near Turkish border (2 "steps"). The White Storks don't fly well up on the see, so for this reason you they are nit in Islands.
Most of the Greek storks is in North Greece (Thrace and Macedonia). In all Greece they are about 2000 pairs all.

So, you don't have nothing else to do - you must to come to North Greece
From Thessaloniki, Kavala, Xanthi, Alexandroupolis, Didimoticho, Orestiada - you will see a lot of storks

Take me with you :eyebrows: I've only been to some Greek Islands - I would love to see the stork-land up north. Do you know prox how many breeding storks there are in Greece, Eva?

Image 2000 pairs - wow, and I have been to Lesbos - I think it was in 2003 with my late husbond - the year before I became stork-nuts :snicker: . We stayed in Petra - lovely island and special. Yeah, I miss my travel-partner.

Hi !

Thank you all for this nice words about Greece. Yes, it is really nice country (and not only Greek Islands).
The most storks are in North part in Greece, so I feel happy that I stay here.
The Greek population is not so big. More big population of White storks is in Poland (about 40.000 pairs).
In the next photos you can see some more from the Greek white storks.

My best regards to all
Eva
